IntellaPatch physical layer switches

Apcon's IntellaPatch physical layer switches are available in 16, 32, 64, 144 and 288 port configurations and offer unparalleled cost, time and energy saving benefits to test lab and network enterprise environments.

With non-blocking, any-to-any connectivity at wire speed, IntellaPatch switches support 1, 2, 4 and 10-Gb/s Fibre Channel, 10/100/1000/10G Ethernet, T1, E1, J1, FDDI and SONET/SDH OC-3, OC-12 and OC-48. For enhanced flexibilty, the multi-protocol blade supports many of the aforementioned protocols and more including, NTSC/PAL, HDTV, ESCON and Infiniband. Apcon's patented solution enables automation, remote access, zone set-up and security of switch management.

Featuring both fiber optic and copper interfaces, IntellaPatch switches are ideal for automating tests of storage systems, servers, peripherals and operating systems. On the enterprise side, IntellaPatch delivers superior network efficiency and cost performance by allowing networks to centralize, share and truly distribute analysis equipment such as probes, sniffers and IDS. Additionally, IntellaPatch is a proven security tool, allowing network infrastructure managers the ability to electronically plug/unplug network connections. Individual workstations, entire floors or buildings can be connected/disconnected from a secure location.

IntellaPatch Blade

The INTELLAPATCH is based on a unique bladed design that allows you to work with a variety of protocols and data rates. The INTELLAPATCH is available in 1, 2, 4, 9, and 18-blade models, which support a maximum of 16, 32, 64, 144, or 288 ports, respectively. One of the benefits of a bladed system is that each switch chassis can be populated with different blades as needed. You can deploy any combination of blades within one unit and they can all run independently and simultaneously. This modular design also provides a cost effective means of converting media, such as copper to fibre or multimode to single-mode. Below is a brief summary of the different blade options APCON offers.

Blade Options


1, 2, and 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel

The 16-port Fibre Channel blade supports multiple data rates and wavelengths and uses hot-swappable SFP modules with LC connectors.


Fibre Channel Blade

10 Gb/s Fibre Channel and Ethernet

The 4-port 10 Gb/s blade uses hot-swappable XFP modules an supports either Fibre Channel or Ethernet.


10-Gigabit Blade

10/100/1000 Copper Ethernet

The 16-port copper Ethernet blade supports Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet and uses RJ-45 connectors.


10/100/1000 Ethernet Blade

100/1000 Ethernet & FDDI

The 16-port 100/1000 Ethernet blade supports Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and FDDI over fibre using hot-swappable SFP modules with LC connectors.


100/1000 Ethernet Blade

T1/E1/J1

The 8-port T1/E1/J1 blade supports multiple rates and uses copper RJ-48C connectors.


T1/E1/J1 Blade

SONET/SDH

The 16-port SONET/SDH blade supports SONET rates up to OC-48 over fibre using hot-swappable SFP modules with LC connectors.


SONET/SDH Blade

DS3/E3/STS-1

The 8-port DS3/E3/STS-1 blade supports multiple rates and uses a mini-BNC TX and a mini-BNC RX connector for each of the bi-directional ports.


DS3/E3/STS-1 Blade

Multi-Protocol

The 16-port multi-protocol, multi-rate blade supports Fibre Channel, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, SONET (OC-3/12/48), NTSC/PAL, HDTV, ESCON and Infiniband depending on the SFP installed.
