Overview:
This hands-on three-day course is designed for professionals who want to understand, manage, and protect their wireless LANs using AirMagnet. The course is delivered through a combination of lecture based instruction, in conjunction with many hands-on exercises designed to reinforce the student's knowledge of key wireless administration skills. This class covers 802.11a, b and g networks.
You will work with the following AirMagnet Products: Laptop, Handheld, Mobile Reporter, and the new Surveyor!
Participants are introduced to a logical troubleshooting methodology for wireless networks, and the basics of capturing and analyzing Wireless LAN information and data frames. Students learn to use this blend of skills to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize WLAN network traffic with AirMagnet.
If you are running WinNT, 2000 or XP you MUST have systems administrator privileges. Please make sure you have this BEFORE bringing the laptop.
Prerequisites:
Before taking this course, participants should have a general understanding of LAN technologies and topologies, the OSI Reference Model, and function of network devices.
