The dawn of 5G
5G promises to be the dawn of the IoT with ubiquitous connectivity which will support multiple devices, applications and protocols with its download speeds of up to 10 times faster than 4G. However, with this introduction of faster connectivity it will also present an opportunity for cyber-criminals to target more devices and launch more wide-reaching cyber-attacks. Tony English, CEO Axial Systems “Within a connected world we need to be more aware of the security risks that surround both the organisations operation and our increasing demand of applications, especially those that might contain your “crown jewels”; your usernames, your passwords and other important data. Full visibility of your entire network is vital to any organisation and this is even more important in 5G where there are many different protocols, applications and services running on numerous devices using the network. Typically, security with IoT is an afterthought. As the joke goes: “What does the ‘S’ in IoT stand for?”; “Security.” Axial can assist with providing full visibility of the traffic flowing over the network, not only for security purposes, but also to assist with performance analytics, and other insights.
